LAVEEN, AZ — A woman riding a horse was hit by a vehicle Saturday night in Laveen, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
MCSO deputies responded to the crash near Dobbins Road and 35th Avenue just after 10 p.m.
The horse suffered severe injuries in the crash. At the owner's request, deputies humanely euthanized the animal to stop its suffering, according to MCSO.
Both the horseback rider and the vehicle's driver were uninjured in the incident.
