PHOENIX — A man is dead after he was shot Sunday afternoon in central Phoenix.
Phoenix police say they were called to the area near 7th Street and Bethany Home Road around 4:45 p.m. for a report of a person who had been shot.
When officers arrived, they found 55-year-old Albert Ruiz suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Monday that during their initial investigation, a man had been identified as being involved in the shooting.
The man, who has not been identified, was questioned by police and released pending further investigation.
The shooting remains under investigation.
