PHOENIX — Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found dead in central Phoenix on Tuesday morning.

Phoenix police say they were called to the area along McDowell Road just east of Central Avenue around 7:15 a.m. for an unknown trouble call.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from "obvious signs of trauma."

The man, who has been identified as 48-year-old Larry Anderson, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It's not clear how Anderson died.

No suspect information has been released at this point and Anderson's death remains under investigation.
