Data shows how many confirmed cases are in each zip code across Arizona, which is updated regularly by state officials.

Health Department officials said that zip code data may include instances in which a hospital has reported their own zip code in place of a COVID-19 patient’s zip code.

This is done when a hospital has not yet determined the patient’s zip code, or if they do not have one, as is the case in many tribal communities. This will cause zip codes that contain hospitals to sometimes over-report COVID-19 cases.

According to ABC15 news partner KTAR, Arizona’s current stretch of 1,000 and above cases is the longest since a five-day period in March. At that time, the COVID-19 vaccine supply was limited and doses were being rationed.

A total of 19 states are experiencing increases in their seven-day moving average -- 12 are higher than 10%, according to data from the COVID-19 tracking site 91-DIVOC.COM.
