PHOENIX — Waymo’s next-generation autonomous Ojai vehicles are now available to all riders in the Valley, following limited pickups on an invite-only basis that began earlier this year.

The company, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOGL), on Wednesday announced a full public rollout of its Ojai vehicles in Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Francisco, stating the autonomous cars are key to scaling its ride-hailing service to dozens of cities.

“For months, early access riders in Phoenix have been taking free trips in the Ojai and provided Waymo with valuable feedback,” a company spokesperson said. “Waymo has used their input to refine the Ojai experience and is now ready to begin commercial operations and open its wide elevator-like doors to all riders.”
