WADDELL, AZ — Homicide detectives are investigating human remains that were discovered at the White Tank Mountain Regional Park.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday, a hiker alerted them to an area where human remains were discovered.
Detectives arrived at the scene and located the remains.
The remains have since been identified by MCSO as a missing person, Amber Barnett.
The Medical Examiner's Office is working to confirm the cause of death.
