Pedestrian killed by driver suffering medical emergency due to bee stings

MESA, AZ — Mesa police say a pedestrian has died after being hit by a car driven by someone who had a medical issue related to bee stings Saturday morning.

It happened just after 9 a.m. near Mesa Drive and McKellips Road.

Officials say the driver had a medical issue relating to bee stings, the vehicle they were driving collided with a pedestrian and a pole.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where they later died.

The investigation remains ongoing.
