A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle in west Phoenix on Wednesday night.
Phoenix police said a 24-year-old female was driving westbound on McDowell Road when her vehicle hit a man crossing mid-block near 36th Avenue.
According to police, the pedestrian was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
It does not appear that impairment is a factor in this crash.
The name of the victim has not been released.
According to a February report from the Governors Highway Safety Association, Arizona has the highest rate of pedestrian deaths in the nation.
