PHOENIX — A 17-year-old boy has died after being shot near 7th Street and Roosevelt Street late Friday night.

Phoenix police say officers were in the area just before 10:30 p.m. for reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, authorities located a teenage boy, identified by police as 17-year-old Aaron Williams, who had been shot.

Williams was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police believe multiple witnesses were in the area at the time of the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact Silent Witness at 480-948-6377.

The investigation remains ongoing.
