PHOENIX- Normally a master’s degree is needed to teach public school students. However, Archway Classical Academy Glendale students, Kaitlyn Owens and Mikaela Wells, skipped the education to serves as “principal for the day” or, as Archway calls it, “headmaster for the day”.

The students will take over for Jack Kersting, Archway’s current Headmaster. They’re expected to dress professionally, preside over morning announcements, attend meetings and, most importantly, dismiss homework for the evening.

Archway Classical Academy is a member of the Great Hearts Academies network of schools. It serves more than 530 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The public charter school hopes to improve tuition-free education.
