Memorial Day weekend is here! While many of you may be taking advantage of the long weekend and getting out of town — Arizonans who stick around should know there are several fire restrictions in place.

Federal restrictions have been set for weeks now, mostly in the Tonto, Coconino and Sitgreaves National Forests.

There is also a fire ban for all Maricopa County Regional Parks. This means no campfires, fire pits or charcoal grills. But you can use gas or propane grills in the ramadas or picnic areas.

The fire threat is going up during the holiday weekend, so Scottsdale Fire officials tell us they will be sending out their brush patrol.

Fireworks are being sold now across the Valley. Novelty fireworks are OK, but anything else could land you a fine. They aren't allowed until late June to early July.
