BUCKEYE, AZ — Authorities are investigating after a man's body was recovered from a canal near Buckeye on Sunday morning.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a call near Southern and Wilson avenues after reports of a man floating in the canal.
Fire personnel removed the man from the water, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 65-year-old Albert Menchaca.
MCSO said the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
