TEMPE, AZ — Louise Bolton had been planning her 80th birthday for years, but due to COVID-19, "she had to cancel it and was devastated," says friend Nancy Spraggins.
So, Spraggins stepped up to make Bolton's dream celebration a reality.
"I saw someone else do a driveway celebration and I thought, that's got to be it," Spraggins tells us. "I got a list of the local invitees from her husband Robert, called everybody and got them all on board to do a driveway parade."
To Bolton's surprise, car after car rolled past her house on Saturday morning, including Tempe police.
Spraggins says the spectacle was great to be able to put together for Louise, with "several cars decorated with streamers and posters."
Even better was Bolton's priceless, teary-eyed reaction.
Spraggins hopes her act of kindness inspires others to do the same, in any way they can.
"We've got to take care of each other," she reminded us. "We got to keep each other's spirits up."
