TEMPE, Ariz. (KNXV) — A recovery operation is underway after a person went underwater at Tempe Town Lake early Monday morning.
According to the Tempe Fire Department, authorities were called to the scene around 1 a.m.
Witnesses said a person went underwater near Rural Road Bridge.
Personnel from both Tempe Fire and the Tempe Police Department searched until the operation transitioned from rescue to recovery.
A dive is expected to be conducted by Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Monday morning.
