CHANDLER, AZ — ICAN typically helps around 200 families every week through after school programs. Since adjusting to COVID-19 closures, they've mobilized their services and more than doubled the families they serve.

"Being able to reach out to the community any way we can is well worth it," says ICAN Program Leader Berlin McGinn.

The "positive program for youth" is distributing free craft kits filled with supplies at multiple schools in Chandler to keep kids engaged at home. The packages include scissors, art supplies, coloring pages, crayons and more.

"This is stuff that we already do during normal programming and its really great that were able to do it outside of this and were able to serve a greater community," says ICAN Program Coordinator Chacho Lopez.

ICAN plans to continue distributing the craft kits every Wednesday. They'll update distribution location and times on their Facebook page. Supply and monetary donations are welcomed at icanaz.org.
