Dog dies in west Phoenix mechanic shop fire

A dog died after a mechanic shop fire in west Phoenix Sunday morning, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. 

Fire officials say they were able to rescue a man from the shop near 35th Avenue and Buckeye Road. He was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition. 

Phoenix fire said two dogs were pulled from the fire but only one was able to be revived using a Fido bag. 

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
