PHOENIX — A Valley business owner is asking for the public's help after his business was robbed twice in one week.

Shezan Kanjiyani, like most business owners, considers the Real Dollar Store off 7th Avenue and Buckeye his home away from home.

"We've been running it for almost sixteen years now," said Kanjiynai.

Kanjiyani says the robberies are costing the business thousands of dollars.

"We're competing with some big dollar stores that have way better margins than us, and we're trying to survive," said Kanjiynai.

Not mention the toll it's taken on employees.

"It's been scary, it's been really scary. Every time the door opens we feel like this guy is back so we just kind of freeze and watch who's coming," said one worker.

Surveillance video from Saturday shows the man waiting in line, then seconds after a customer leaves, he pulls a knife and jumps the counter.

The fearful employee gives him what he wants.

"He doesn't even try to hide his face, he's doing it in broad daylight, cameras are everywhere," said Kanjiyani.

He says minimal weekend staffing has made the store an easy target, forcing them to consider shutting their doors during those days rather than risk further losses.

"It's going to be very difficult for us to survive. We're just sad, we're just sad that it's happening," said Kanjiyani.

He now hopes someone recognizes the crook and puts him where he belongs - behind bars.
