PHOENIX — Phoenix mother Tara Lowy is celebrating Mother's Day quarantined with her growing family.

"My first came fast, 13 days early, so they're like 'you'll probably have him this weekend,'" says Lowy.

This pregnancy has been far different from her first due to COVID-19.

Lowy says, "It's been easy to stay home and not go out or do anything because I don't feel like doing that anyways."

The greatest challenge is yet to come for the close-knit family. Once the baby comes, Lowy says she'll have family outfitted in gloves and masks over to visit, but it definitely won't be the same.

Lowy's parents will be missed the most. They haven't had close contact in weeks.

The time apart is especially hard on Lowy's mom, 64, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's eight years ago.

"She gets upset and cries. Wonders why she can't see us because we would come over quite a bit," says Lowy.

For now, the family will celebrate Mother's Day at a safe distance and hug the loved ones they can a little tighter until the entire family is reunited.
