PHOENIX — A construction worker is injured after an incident at the site of the TSMC plant in north Phoenix.
At around 1:30 p.m. Monday, Phoenix Fire crews were called to the site northwest of Loop 303 and Interstate 17 for a rescue call.
Phoenix fire officials say firefighters treated and transported an injured male construction worker to a hospital in serious condition. A statement from TSMC officials acknowledges the worker "suffered broken bones."
Details on what caused the injuries haven't been provided.
ABC15 reached out to the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health, the state’s worker safety agency, to see if it would be investigating, but has not yet heard back.
ABC15 has also reached out to TSMC officials, who provided the following statement:
“This afternoon an Arizona site construction worker was in an accident and suffered broken bones. This person was treated on scene and promptly transported to the hospital for further treatment. We wish the injured worker a full and fast recovery. TSMC’s top priority is the safety and welfare of everyone who works on our site.
