The Arizona Department of Public Safety says a suspected reckless driver is in custody after a pursuit in Phoenix on Wednesday afternoon.

DPS officials say troopers tried to stop the suspect's vehicle for reckless driving and suspended license plates at the westbound Interstate 10 to northbound State Route 51 transition.

The suspect reportedly refused to stop, prompting troopers to initiate a pursuit.

The chase came to an end after the suspect struck another vehicle on SR-51 northbound near McDowell Road.

The driver, a man in his twenties, will be charged with reckless driving, resisting arrest, and felony flight, officials said. He has not been identified at this time.
