Officials have identified the suspect involved in a shooting on Interstate 10 on Sunday morning.

Phoenix police said 22-year-old Leonardo Gutierrez-Rodriguez was arrested on several counts, including six counts of aggravated assault.

According to Phoenix police, victims told officers they were driving on Interstate 10 when they passed a man and woman who were standing in the median.

Rodriguez allegedly pointed a gun at the woman and as the victims drove by them, he apparently fired his weapon.

According to police, the bullet struck the windshield of the victim’s vehicle. The victims called 911 and continued down the road and contacted police.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety and Phoenix police responded to the scene. DPS Troopers were able to locate Rodriguez on the freeway.

The woman was later located and sustained minor injuries from an earlier assault that Rodriguez played a part in.

The victims in the vehicle did not report any injuries.
