PHOENIX — The non-profit One N Ten is offering financial assistance for LGBTQ youth during the pandemic.

They set up an emergency relief fund and, through the support of sponsors, they say they've raised over $70,000. That money is going to teens and young adults who may have lost their jobs or are in need of assistance. The non-profit says it will help them pay their bills and get food or clothing.

Nate Rhoton, Executive Director of One N Ten, says many young adults ages between 18 and 24 in the LGBTQ community may not have supportive families and may not have anywhere else to turn.

“For many young people, they’ve never navigated the systems of unemployment, it’s scary and all the different federal and state aid that may be there for them, we’re helping them access that, too," Rhoton said.

He says so far, they've helped 140 people through the fund. For more information, or to donate, click here.
