SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Scottsdale Police Department is investigating an apparent homicide that took place last weekend.
Officers were dispatched to conduct a welfare check at a home near 68th Street and Indian School Road after 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5.
The body of a woman in her 70s was found inside the home, as well as a man in his 70s who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Police say the man's relationship to the woman is not yet known, but police do not believe there are any outstanding suspects in the case.
Detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide at this time.
Officials are not yet identifying those involved.
