U.S. stock markets took a beating Thursday over fears about China's economy.
Financial advisor Michael Carlin from Wealth Management LLC in Scottsdale said use the market turbulence to your advantage. Carlin said now is the time to look at your investments. He said think of it like bargain shopping.
"This is my opportunity to buy something on sale or discount," said Carlin. "We all know about buying things on sale. We just practiced it (during the holiday). Use that practice on investing. It's the same philosophy."
Carlin says look for stocks that traditionally do well, but are down now.
