PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a man was hurt after a shooting Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to the area off Interstate 17, near Cactus Road, for reports of a man being shot inside his residence.
Police say a man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
Officers originally closed off roads leading to the neighborhood near 30th Avenue and Aster Drive as they attempted to negotiate with a suspect at a nearby house.
Police say after hours of trying to negotiate, the suspect was not found.
According to officials, the community is believed not to be in danger and the suspect remains outstanding.
The investigation remains ongoing.
