PHOENIX — The community is taking action for Colombia more than two weeks after that devastating earthquake.
It is impossible to forget the heartbreaking images that came out of the country starting on August 10 when the magnitude 7.4 quake rattled through the western part of Colombia.
The United Nations is reporting more than 300 people have died and more than 4,500 others were injured. More than 400 are still missing.
The UN also estimates 134,000 homes were damaged and 30,000 were destroyed.
Friday, ABC15's Nick Ciletti got an e-mail from a group called Colombians in Arizona, made up of Colombian-Americans living in State 48, people with family in Colombia, and people who just want to help and take action for the people still suffering.
Right now, they're encouraging people to donate to the World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit that mobilizes in areas that have been devastated by disaster, preparing more than half a billion meals worldwide for communities in crisis, like Colombia.
