MESA, AZ — A woman is in custody after she allegedly tried to kill her boyfriend on Thanksgiving.

Mesa police say 52-year-old Tamala Rudeseal called officials, saying that "she had slashed the victim's throat."

Officials responded to the area of Broadway Road and Country Club Drive just after 8 p.m.

Police say the man was taken to a hospital for emergency surgery and he is expected to survive.

Rudeseal was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault on her boyfriend, police say.
