Health officials with Yavapai County Health Services have shut down their Prescott office after 10 staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
The office was closed at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, and they will remain closed through the weekend with plans to reopen on Monday.
According to a spokesperson, there has been a rise in cases over the weekend, as well as this week.
As of Wednesday, a data dashboard from Yavapai County shows Prescott and Prescott Valley saw 17 new cases of COVID-19.
ABC15 asked officials if contact tracing has led back to rallies held by President Donald Trump just weeks ago, but they say although they can’t say for certain, they have had an increase of cases since then.
Officials with Yavapai County believe the outbreak of COVID-19 at their health services office is linked to a private gathering with staff members for a baby shower.
