Want to know which restaurants serve up the best poutine, eh?

Don't know what it is? It's all the rage in the Valley.

The Canadian dish consists of French fries, cheese curds and gravy. Some pronounce it poo-tin, like the Russian president's last name, while others pronounce it poo-teen.

Some eateries serve it with their own twist, adding meat.

Here are the top five places in the Valley to buy it, according to Yelp reviewers.

1. Welcome Diner

Welcome Diner is the Valley's top spot for poutine according to Yelpers.  Erica F. writes, "The poutine had the right amount of gravy and cheese and a very nice portion... We are looking forward to going back and trying more awesome food..."

If you go:

924 E Roosevelt St Phoenix (602) 495-1111

2. Nook Kitchen

Many are also partial to the poutine at Nook Kitchen. Located inside Arcadia’s famous Gaslight Square, Nook serves up comfort food with flair.

If you go:

3623 E. Indian School Rd. Phoenix (602) 651-1390

3. Beaver Choice

Beaver Choice is so poutine-proud, it mentions its popular dish on its website. Yelp reviewer Holly R. seemed to like it. She wrote, "We quickly inhaled every gravy-covered bite."

If you go:

745 W. Baseline Rd. Mesa (480) 921-3137

4. North Mountain Brewing

Where else can you get a craft beer to wash down your poutine? North Mountain Brewing boasts beer-centric foods from around the world -- including this Canadian favorite.

If you go:

522 E. Dunlap Ave. Phoenix (602) 861-5999

5. Angels Trumpet Ale House

Ok, so maybe North Mountain Brewing isn't the only place you can pig out on poutine and have a craft beer.  Angels Trumpet Ale House can pair the favorites too, and you can hop on the light rail to get you there.

If you go:

810 N 2nd St, Phoenix, Arizona 85004 (602) 252-2630
