PHOENIX — What if O.H.S.O. Brewery and Distillery had a baby, a brother, or a sister? Well, soon, it kind of will.

Meet Little O's, a new, smaller OHSO-centic neighborhood bar and restaurant opening (really) soon near 7th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix, not far from where Squid Ink's group is opening Highball Cocktails, a new cocktail bar in the former SideBar space, and where Roses by the Stairs Brewing plans to open in 2021 in part of the former Easley's Fun Shop building.

"It’s going to have that "O.H.S.O." vibe, that neighborhood feel, where it's your local hang out with your friends," said Summer Anesin, owner and general manager of Little O's, and someone who has worked at OHSO's since its founding.

"The O.H.S.O. owners have wanted to do this smaller concept for a long time and also give longtime employees an opportunity for ownership. That's what Little O's is," she said. "There’s going to be differences, but it’s going to feel the same."

She said the menu at Little O's would be similar to OHSO's and have a few of the staple items from its menu, but would have some differences because its kitchen is smaller. When Anesin spoke with ABC15 a couple weeks ago, the menu was still being finalized.

Since that interview, photos shared on Little O's Facebook page show deviled eggs, sandwiches, and salads.

Like OHSO, it will be open for brunch and dinner, will have a smaller outdoor patio that is dog-friendly, and will showcase OHSO's beer and spirits. It will also feature some of OHSO's familiar designs, such as the bikes on the walls, TVs, benches, and banquets, but will have a 60s and 70s feel.

Unlike OHSO, the eatery will be mostly counter service during lunch, and will transition to table service during Happy Hour and dinner, Anesin said. It will also have a grab-and-go area for those who need to grab a bite to eat fast.

The goal is to open towards the end of September, but an exact opening date has not yet been determined, she said.

As for the potential of more locations around the Valley, Anesin said that is highly likely.

"What we love is being part of something and being part of a new neighborhood is something we’re really excited about," she said.
