Drivers will see some lane restrictions and ramp closures in the Phoenix area this weekend.

The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers plan ahead, consider alternate routes or adjust travel schedules and use caution in work zones while the following restrictions are in place:

I-17 frontage roads closed in either direction in areas between 19th Avenue (near the Durango Curve) and Van Buren Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 6) for pavement markings installation. I-17 on- and off-ramps in the area also closed at times. Adams, Jefferson and Grant streets as well as Buckeye Road also closed at times at I-17. DETOUR: Consider using 19th or 27th avenues as alternate north-south routes. Van Buren Street is an alternate east-west route.

Southbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) narrowed to two lanes overnight at McDonald Drive from 10 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 6) for widening project. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely in work zone.

Eastbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) narrowed to one lane and westbound Loop 101 narrowed to two lanes overnight near State Route 51 from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Dec. 7) for bridge project. Oversized (wide) loads not allowed on eastbound Loop 101 due to 11-foot lane restriction. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely in work zones.

US 60 narrowed with intersection restrictions in areas between Mountain View Road and the highway crossover east of Kings Ranch Road in Gold Canyon (east of Apache Junction) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday (Dec. 7-9) for pavement improvements. DPS officers will be on scene to help direct traffic. DETOUR: Drivers are urged to allow extra travel time and to be prepared to use other nearby intersections or crossover locations when turning movements are restricted by paving work.

Southbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) off-ramp at McDonald Drive will close for approximately three months starting at 10 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 6) while crews add a retaining wall and reconstruct the ramp as part of widening project. DETOUR: Please consider exiting southbound Loop 101 at Indian Bend or Chaparral roads.
