PHOENIX — Part of Loop 101 in the north Valley is scheduled to close this weekend for freeway widening work, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Lane restrictions are also scheduled on a stretch of Interstate 10.

Here is ADOT's Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory, as it appears on the official site:

A stretch of westbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) between Pima Road and 56th Street in the northeast Valley is scheduled to be closed this weekend (Feb. 12-15) for freeway widening work, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers should allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following weekend freeway restrictions are in place:

  • Westbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) closed between Pima Road/Princess Drive and 56th Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Feb. 15) for widening project (pavement diamond grinding). Northbound/westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Raintree Drive and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard also closed.
    • Detour: Expect heavy traffic, delays and consider alternate routes including westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to northbound SR 51. Local detours include exiting northbound Loop 101 to westbound Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard/Bell Road and using northbound 56th Street or Tatum Boulevard to access westbound Loop 101. Drivers north of Loop 101 can consider using westbound Pinnacle Peak Road to southbound Tatum Boulevard or Cave Creek Road to reach Loop 101.
  • Westbound Interstate 10 left two lanes closed between 32nd and 24th streets near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 13) for barrier wall repairs. Eastbound I-10 HOV lane closed between 24th and 32nd streets.
    • Detour: Please use caution and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through work zones.

Have a safe and wonderful weekend!
