Two big construction projects are right on track for completion later this year, and early next year.
The Grand Avenue and Bell Road interchange project is making a lot of progress this week, by installing concrete girders for the Bell Road overpass that will travel over Grand Avenue and the railroad tracks.
Crews will also continue paving a new wider section of westbound Grand Avenue near Bell Road. That work is setting the stage for the temporary switch of two-way Grand Avenue traffic to the new westbound lanes at the end of July.
Loop 101 in Scottsdale is also seeing a lot of progress, and some changes to the scheduled work.
For the past several months there have been full freeway closures over the weekend for the Loop 101 widening project. ADOT says that from now until Labor Day there will be no full closures, just some restrictions for improvement work.
