ANTHEM — The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising drivers to prepare for long delays on I-17 northbound due to heavy holiday traffic.
According to ADOT, traffic backed up for about 10 miles on the interstate from milepost 225 in Anthem to milepost 235 north of New River on Saturday afternoon.
Video from traffic cameras showed lines of cars packed on the interstate for miles.
The backup had eased by around 3:45 p.m., ADOT said, though drivers were told to still expect "light to moderate" delays between New River and Table Mesa Road.
