PHOENIX — Those traveling to Northern Arizona should expect significant delays along I-17 northbound, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).
The longest delays are from the far north Phoenix area near Anthem to the Sunset Point Rest Area.
"Drivers should allow for extra travel time and consider alternate routes, including through Payson on state routes 87 and 260," ADOT said in a press release.
There is no estimated time when the traffic will clear.
Traffic is picking up on I-17 northbound. The first photo near Anthem is from now and the second is from about 7 a.m. Expect lots more traffic heading north over the next few hours.
