The Phoenix Suns' search for an interim head coach after Monday's firing of Jeff Hornacek is reportedly down to three men, all of whom are current assistants with the team.

The candidates are Nate Bjorkgren, Earl Watson and Corey Gaines, ESPN reported Monday.

Bjorkgren and Watson were both promoted to the front of the team's bench in late December after the Suns fired top assistants Jerry Sichting and Mike Longabardi.

Bjorkgren was the head coach of the Suns' Summer League team in Las Vegas and led the Suns to an appearance in the Summer League championship game. Watson, a former point guard, played for six NBA teams from 2001-14.

Gaines played in five NBA seasons from 1988-95 and was the head coach of the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury from 2007-13. He led the Mercury to the 2009 WNBA championship.
