Anxious to put their disappointing 6-7 season behind them, coach Todd Graham and the Arizona State Sun Devils kicked off spring football Monday morning in Tempe.

The Devils will hold a total of 15 practices between now and April 16, but with renovations underway at Sun Devil Stadium, there will not be a Spring Game this year.

The big question this year is: With the departure of Mike Bercovici, who will start at quarterback?

ASU has three underclassmen in camp: redshirt sophomore Manny Wilkins, and two redshirt freshmen in Brady White and former Chandler High School star Bryce Perkins.

That question will be answered in due time. Graham's focus right now is on mastering the fundamentals and taking that first step toward being fully prepared for the 2016 season.

"I loved our spirit and our attitude today," Graham said after practice. "Guys were great. I just liked their approach.

"The main thing is just focusing on us, and let's get better at the little things, because it's that much difference between winning and losing. That's what our focus was. We looked good today. Lots of good things."

Graham is optimistic about the upcoming season thanks to a new batch of assistant coaches, including offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, who replaced the outgoing Mike Norvell before ASU's bowl game last season.

"We've laid a foundation, and I think we've taken a step forward because we've gotten better in a lot of areas because of the guys we've got teaching," Graham said.
