They last played in St. Louis back in 1987, before moving to Arizona in 1988, but apparently, the last 28 years didn’t mean much to ESPN today.
The World Wide Leader in Sports listed their NFL power rankings with the St. Louis Cardinals in the #2 spot on the list, just behind the Carolina Panthers. and SportsCenter tweeted it out...with a few interesting stats.

What’s even more interesting is the fact that the Cardinals changed their name from the Phoenix Cardinals to the Arizona Cardinals back in 1994, so even that was lost in the misprint!
The only thing we can ascertain is the fact that former ASU baseball star Mike Leake signed a new 5-year contract with the St. Louis baseball Cardinals earlier in the day and someone was thinking baseball instead of football!
