The Arizona Cardinals announced Thursday that quarterback Carson Palmer will be placed on injured reserve, a move that will keep him sidelined for at least eight weeks with a broken arm.

Palmer left late in the first half of the Cards' game vs. the Los Angeles Rams in London on Sunday. Palmer suffered the injury while being hit during a pass that resulted in an interception in the second quarter.

Coach Bruce Arians has said Drew Stanton will start the team’s next game against San Francisco after their bye week this week, while Blaine Gabbert will be his backup.

The team signed former Sun Devils quarterback Mike Bercovici to their practice squad, but he’s not expected to be called up at least for their next game.
