In the last two seasons, the Arizona Cardinals have added a pair of small, speedy wide receivers (John Brown and J.J. Nelson) via the NFL Draft.

Arizona State Sun Devils alum D.J. Foster doesn't exactly fit that category. Nonetheless, the Cards are apparently taking a close look at the Scottsdale Saguaro High School alum.

On Monday, Foster told ESPN he met with Cardinals wide receivers coach Darryl Drake, special teams coordinator Amos Jones and western regional scout Chris Culmer at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

ASU moved the versatile Foster from running back to wide receiver last season. In September, he became just the fourth player in NCAA history to gain over 2,000 rushing yards and 2,000 receiving yards in his collegiate career.

The 5-foot-11, 198-pound Foster is projected to be drafted as high as the third round of the 2016 draft.
