Charming Charlie, a nationwide chain of clothing and accessories stores, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is closing all of its locations Aug. 31. Signs in every store and the retailer’s website boasts of savings up to 50% on everything in stock.

Going out of business sales like these often sound like a fantastic opportunity to snag some serious savings. But, what kind of deals can you expect from Charming Charlie’s final days in business? The company is still touting deals on Instagram:

Since the announcement in July that stores would be closing, customers have been taking advantage of the sales — and emptying the shelves. Hip2Save reported finding savings on a variety of items, including a 25% discount on jewelry, scarves, sunglasses and clothing, on Aug. 15.

However, commenters noted that finding those 50% discounts can be next to impossible. Between a lack of inventory and maximum discounts on leftover merchandise typically reaching only 25%, the last days of the sale might save you a little money, but don’t expect to get 50% off of many items.

At this point, the store might not look like the Charming Charlie you used to know, with its abundance of color-coordinated accessories:

If you decide to head to a Charming Charlie location near your home to see what’s left, you should know a few things before shopping:

  • Charming Charlie gift cards are no longer accepted at any store location
  • All sales are final. No returns or exchanges for any product
  • No personal checks will be accepted
  • Discounts may not be combined with other offers or coupons

Charming Charlie’s website is still up and running as we publish this post, but you can no longer place online orders.

The products and services mentioned below were selected independent of sales and advertising. However, Don't Waste Your Money may receive a small commission from the purchase of any products or services through an affiliate link to the retailer's website.
