PHOENIX — President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Phoenix Tuesday, May 5, the White House announced Wednesday.

Trump also made the comment during a Q&A session with reporters following a round-table discussion with industry leaders on reopening the country's economy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I think I'm going to Arizona next week and we look forward to that," he said to a reporter. Trump did not say specifically when nor where he would be visiting, but said his visit "has to do with industry."

The White House released more information later in the day saying he plans to visit a Honeywell facility in Phoenix to highlight the company's "investment in critical medical equipment production within the United States and the addition of 500 manufacturing jobs in Arizona."

Honeywell is adding new production capability to its Phoenix facility to meet the increased demand for N-95 respirator masks amid the coronavirus.

He said he also hopes to visit Ohio soon and to be able to hold rallies later on.
