Pinal and Maricopa counties report 3 new coronavirus cases, bringing state total to 9

PINAL COUNTY, AZ — On Wednesday, officials reported nine cases of coronavirus in the state, including new cases in Maricopa and Pinal counties.

Pinal County

Pinal County health officials say there are now five cases of coronavirus spread person-to-person in the county.

On Wednesday, Pinal County Public Health Department said two more residents were diagnosed with coronavirus.

Both cases are from the same household as the previously reported three cases.

The new patients are over 60 years old and are said to be recovering at home.

Maricopa County

Maricopa County Department of Public Health says a new presumptive positive case involves a man in his 90s.

Officials say the patient is recovering at the hospital and is stable condition.

Close contacts of the patient are being identified and will be notified of recommendations to prevent further spread.

There are now three cases of coronavirus in Maricopa County.

Pima County has one reported case.
