Police officers in Bullhead City say a missing 7-year-old’s body was found in the Colorado River Sunday morning.

Jeremy Duncan was last seen around 8 a.m. Saturday in the area of Riviera and Marina boulevards. According to officials, Duncan had autism and was non-verbal and was last seen wearing yellow shorts without a T-shirt or shoes.

Police and volunteers met at 7 a.m. Sunday to search for the boy and by 8 a.m. officials announced that they discovered a “juvenile body” in the Colorado River near Rotary Park.

City officials held a press conference after finding the body and confirmed that it was Duncan.

The body was found in the river hours after police took to Facebook to say that reports of a young boy found in the river were “unfounded.”

Billboards of the child's picture went up near Riverview and Highway 95 and also near Ricardo and Highway 95 during the search.

On Saturday evening, Bullhead City officials kept lights on at a city park and urged residents to do so as well.

Police say the young boy was not “eligible” for an Amber Alert.
