WITTMANN, AZ — Authorities are investigating after a man was shot and killed in a neighborhood near Wittmann on Sunday evening.
Officials with the Maricopa County Sheriffs Office say deputies responded to reports of a man who had been hit by a car near 299th Avenue and Wildcat Drive.
When deputies arrived on scene, they instead found a person with a gunshot wound, MCSO said. The victim, only identified as a man in his 20s or 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene and are following up on a few leads.
MCSO says there is no suspect information at this time and very little information, but the investigation is underway.
