Investigators believe a woman found deceased in the Coconino County area of Arizona may be a woman missing out of New Mexico.

Sasha Krause, 27, went missing from her home in New Mexico on January 18, 2020 around 8 p.m. according to San Juan County Sheriff's Office (SJCSO).

SJCSO believes her disappearance was suspicious but have not yet pieced together what possibly led Krause from New Mexico to Arizona.

"Detectives from the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area to assist and to determine if it was her or not. Positively identifying the body can only be done after an autopsy is performed. An autopsy is tentatively scheduled for Monday to establish the identity and to determine the official cause of death."

SJCSO says they were contacted by CCSO in reference to a body found that matched the description of Krause. CCSO says the body was found in the Wupatki National Monument area but no addition details were released.

More information will be released once the autopsy has been concluded.
