CHANDLER, AZ — Authorities say two people are dead after a collision on a busy Valley freeway Tuesday afternoon.
Department of Public Safety officials say around 3:15 p.m., a pickup truck rear-ended a large trailer connected to a truck on northbound SR-101 between Frye Road and Chandler Boulevard.
Troopers say the female driver and front-seat male passenger of the pickup suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
This remains an active investigation and impairment has not been ruled out, according to DPS spokesman Raul Garcia.
