It's too warm in Arizona right now for our lakes to freeze over, but you can still skate on real ice outside at Skate Westgate!
ICE SKATING:
Near the Yard House and next to the giant, 36-foot Christmas tree, you'll see Arizona's only real outdoor ice skating rink, according to Westgate. Officials also told us they have the world's smallest zamboni. It's $15 to skate for kids and adults, unless you have your own skates ($11). Toddlers (sizes 8T to 12T only) can receive double-blade ice skate rentals for $11. When you buy your skating pass, show it to Tavern + Bull, and you'll get 20% off your entire food and drink bill.
THE MENORAH LIGHTING:
They've already done their tree lighting, but the Menorah lighting is on December 17th at 5 p.m. at Fountain Park. It's free and open to the public. You can celebrate Hanukkah with activities, raffle prizes, games for children, and live entertainment. Traditional light bites and latkes will be served.
SANTA HUSTLE 5K RUN AND HALF MARATHON:
The Santa Hustle 5K Run and Half Marathon is on the 17th as well. Registration for the race normally costs $40, but you'll get $5 off when you enter the promo code: WGSH
Plus, they have live music every Friday and Saturday night. And of course, they have the VIP...
SANTA CLAUS:
Santa Claus is there! You can score a free gift (no purchase necessary and while supplies last), and one free downloadable picture per family. There are other packages available for purchase. On December 11th and 18th, you can bring your dogs to take a picture with Santa! Here are Santa's hours:
Fridays and Saturdays: 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Sundays: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Select Weekdays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Christmas Eve: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (He has work to do overnight delivering all the presents!)

FREE HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGES:
Not only will you get to sit in Santa's sleigh, but you can also ride in luxury! They have free horse-drawn carriage rides through December 23rd that pick up and drop off at WaterDance Plaza. The hours range from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Arizona Coyotes home game nights, pick-up and drop-off will be in front of AMC Theaters. To accommodate demand, there will be four carriages that you can hop in to take a spin, get whisked away, and ride off into the sunset.
LET IT SNOW:
They not only have ice, but Westgate also has snow! Each night, the snow falls at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. through December 31st! On Christmas Eve, the snow will fall every hour on the hour from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

You can enjoy the ice skating through January 7, 2018. Skate Westgate is open daily, except Christmas day. Here are the hours:
Monday - Thursday (through December 21st): 3:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Monday - Thursday (December 26th through January 4th): 11 a.m. to 10:45 p.m.
Friday - Saturday: 11:00 a.m. to 10:45 p.m.
Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Christmas Eve: 11:00 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.
New Year's Eve: 11:00 a.m. to 10:45 p.m.
TICKET DETAILS:
Tickets can be purchased near the rink in Fountain Park. Reservations are not required, and skating sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis. Cash and credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) are accepted.
PRICING RECAP:
