Friday is National Doughnut Day or Donut Day, and there are several reasons to celebrate!
Here are some quick fun facts for you. There are actually two National Doughnut Days. The Salvation Army established this one back in 1938 in Chicago. During World War I, Salvation Army "Donut Lassies" served donuts to soldiers. So, to honor those women and to keep the legacy alive, you get to enjoy freebies and discounts on the first Friday in June every year! The other National Doughnut Day date is November 5, and the reasoning for it isn't entirely known. One theory is that it's close to Veteran's Day, but most restaurants and retailers participate on the June date though.

At Dunkin' Donuts, get a FREE classic doughnut of your choice with the purchase of any beverage all day Friday, while supplies last.
At Krispy Kreme, get a FREE doughnut! No purchase is necessary! The company said that if they give away one million doughnuts or more, they'll create a second deal-filled offer in June!
LaMar's Donuts is also teaming up with The Salvation Army! Get a donut with a hole for FREE today!
Head over to any Walmart Supercenter or participating Neighborhood Market to score one FREE glazed donut in the bakery section. It's a limit of one per customer.
Get one FREE doughnut from some Bosa Donuts locations today. Be sure to call before you visit the restaurant to make sure it is participating and what deal the store is offering and honoring. You can find your nearest Bosa location here. Plus, a new Bosa Donuts location is opening sometime next week downtown at Arizona Center, where there will be offers like free coffee and donuts all week long. Discount cards will also be handed out in the area today, so you can score even more savings during the grand opening week!
