SURPRISE, AZ — Two teenagers are dead after a crash in Surprise Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred just after 5 p.m. near Bullard Avenue and Greenway Road.

Police say a car with four teenagers inside had crashed into a tree east of the roadway. Several of the people in the car were trapped during the impact.

A 17-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other teenagers, an 18-year-old man, a 16-year-old boy, and a 15-year-old boy, were taken to the hospital for treatment. The 16-year-old died from his injuries at the hospital.

Police say the cause of the crash is under investigation and speed is believed to have been a factor.
